9 – Provide Real Value
All of the other tips are pointless if you don’t heed this one. If you had a friend who seemed to only be able to talk about him or herself and was constantly trying to sell you things, would you want to spend a whole lot of time with that person?
A corporate blog is no different. You’re asking people to give you their most precious resource – their time. You absolutely must respect and honor that gift. Remember who your customers are and what they want (see tip #1), and provide them with information, entertainment, and advice that they will really value. That, and only that, will keep them coming back to you for years.
